Fourth test – Shit I missed it, much happened?

Well well well, look what the cat dragged in.

Christmas had me all giddy….and drunk… and I appear to have forgotten to write a preview but luckily it only asked two days again, so I didn’t miss all that much cricket.

Frustratingly though, I did happen to miss the first test victory of the series for England, and the first victory on Aussie soil since what feels like the dawn of time.

What on earth happened then? Well to put it simply, the MCG shat out a pitch that did so much it removed and technical advantage the hosts had, and played right into the chaotic nature of this English side, cheers boys!

Yep, the aggressive, throw your hands at it and see what happens approach actually paid off, who’d have thought. You could go into great detail analysing the strengths of this England team, and the weakness the Australians displayed, but that just isn’t worth it.

They were all still drunk from the Ashes victory celebration that most likely kicked on until the early hours of Boxing Day, Smudge was being sick in the nets so got left out, Uzzie didnt look like he was particularly keen on playing but strapped em on anyways. It was proper Sunday pub league stuff and I love it.

Good for us though! A Root ton and a test match victory isn’t what we had hoped for in the build up to this series, but its a few nice positives to take away from what has been a pretty negative experience so far.

Archers broken, woods broken, Atkinson’s broken. Pope dropped and Bethell looked pretty good in the second dig so that’s probably him resigned to the county champs for the foreseeable. Not great, but not the worst.

So we march on to Sydney, who knows what will happen there, also, who cares?
