Welcome to: In the threes – a cricket blog

Welcome to the blog, if you are new here, apologies for the website…still getting my head around making it.

Why”in the threes”? Well, it’s where I’ve spent most of my amateur cricket career.

Why start a blog? Crippling boredom and painful overestimation of my own writing ability.

Is it any good? No.

Is it free? Yes, I can’t figure out how to make money from it.

For more info on the blog itself, click the “about” link in the top right (probably doesn’t work)

Enjoy the posts if you can, I think they should be found below…

  • Second Test – This could be a bloodbath.

Oh dear oh dear, I’m not looking forward to this one.

Day/night test, pink ball, the Gabba. This has a Mitch Starc masterclass in embarrassing us all over it doesn’t it?

  • First Test Roundup – Monumental balls up, fair play Trav.

This was supposed to be a day 2 review – but seeing as it’s already over, I may as well wrap up the test as a whole.

  • First test – Day 1: Welcome to Hell, it’s good to see you.

Wow, that wasn’t quite what I expected, but it’s safe to say England will be the happier of the two sides in the sheds after the days play. The Aussies, when they reassemble outside the hospital doors, may be left a bit confused as to what on earth just happened to them.

England fans rarely have it easy, and today was no exception. For those of us brave enough, and with some annual leave to spare, the 2am wake up would go one of two ways….today it managed to go both.

  • The Aussies in disarray? Decades of dominance due to Bradman’s hypnosis? England could just do it…

Ahhhhhhhhh fuck lads, I’ve got my hopes up again.

It’s been a long old time since England have looked remotely like competing over in HMP Australia, but this time……I fancy it.

Why? Well that’s a question I’ve been bouncing around in my small, uncultured English brain for the last few weeks, and I think I’ve finally found an answer.
